Did any of my friends follow my advice and 'Fan' Woody on Facebook? I saw a few familiar faces on Woody's page.   If you did ( and registered), you'll be recieving a coupon via email for a free TGI Friday's Jack Burger very soon.  But now my obsession with free stuff has moved on.  All of us with the free burger coupons are going to need something to wash it down with, ( or a hangover cure from our fun night at TGI's).  So it's Starbucks to the rescue!

Starting October 2nd, Starbucks is conducting a 'coffee challenge' with their new instant brew.  Here's the info for the taste test:  http://www.starbucks.com/via .  Unlike the Friday's Free Burger thing, you don't have to 'Fan' anybody anywhere, or register.  But on October 2-5 you'l  actually have to walk into a Starbucks.  Now I'm not one to usually go to Starbucks ( I like that Dunkin' Doughnut blend ), but perhaps this is Starbucks chance to win me over.  After reading their site listed above though, a few items struck me.  So here's my crappy attempt at humor from their claims: " Starbucks has found a way to offer a truly great cup of coffee that you can prepare by just adding water." - Okay, did they think I was making my coffee with motor oil?...... "The magic is in a proprietary process" - I've never had 'magic' coffee before, will it make my hair grow back, or perhaps something better? .... "We think it tastes just as good as any cup of freshly brewed Starbucks® coffee. And we bet you'll agree. a participating Starbucks store October 2-5 to take the Starbucks VIA™ Taste Challenge. Let us know if you can taste the difference and receive a free tall brewed coffee for your time.*" - If their new instant is so good, why are they giving away a free cup of brewed?..... " It's pretty revolutionary, when you think about it. With Starbucks VIA™, great coffee can be yours anytime, anywhere. A life-altering concept, with tasty consequences" - Revolutionary?  Life Altering?  This better be SOME CUP OF COFFEE!!!! 

Alright, enough teasing Starbucks.  It's very kind (and business savy) to even offer the challenge.  So, tomorrow it's off to Starbucks to take the challenge and get my FREE COFFEE Cupon!  I guess I can now say 'I'M OBSESSED WITH FREE STUFF with my new motto being "If it's Free it's ME !!!  10/01/09
