Not-So-Concerned Citizens Of SW Florida. That's it! I've started this group so we can have a voice. The silly, weird, indifferent, the irreverent!  This comes about by all the other so-called citizens groups thyat are trying to change this or sue that.  The one that broke my back is the one that's going to sue the city of Sarasota over toxin clean-up at the Ed Smith Stadium site.  Not that their wrong, but I've been down that road before.

Having grown up in Pittsfield, Ma., where GE dumped tons of PBC toxins in the grounds I played in and the lakes I swam in.  Even Opera did a story about that a while back. Folks who lived and grew up in that area in the 60's & 70's have a 80% higher rare cancer rate.  And did GE clean it up? Nope, they cut a deal with the government and ran. It was never fully explained to me or others, but that's REALLY how the government and business work!  That's right, and now people like me who could drop dead at any time now, have to live with this type of bureaucracy.  Maybe the PCB dumpage is to explain my total goofyness now.  But that's a blurb for another day.

I've noticed alot of 'action groups' of concerned citizens in our area.  Some involve the arts, politics, even chickens and their rights to lay eggs in good folks back yards! ** A Footnote to President Obama's visit to Sarasota and Arcadia today.  He's giving a speech in Arcadia to explain to the towns folk that the Civil War really is over and he really is the President!  But, before he left, he did make one statemen to the press in regards to the World Series.  Phillies in 6 is all he said.  Now that's a bet I'm gonna take!     10/27/09
